Appeal following fatal collision on West Moor Road, Raskelf

Yesterday, we issued a traffic alert regarding a serious road traffic collision on West Moor Road, Raskelf, that had occurred around 3.30pm on Wednesday 4 September.

Sadly, the 70-year-old driver of a blue Renault Kangoo, from Helperby, was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.

The driver of the black Land Rover Discovery, a 53-year-old woman from near York, and her 80-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital to be checked over,

We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage that may have captured the collision or the vehicles beforehand.

The Renault Kangoo was traveling towards Helperby, while the Discovery was heading in the opposite direction towards Raskelf at the time of the collision.
