Image of man issued after York assault

We have issued an image of a man we would like to identify following an assault on a woman on Tadcaster Road, York.

It happened between 4.50pm and 5pm on 16 October 2024, when a man engaged a woman with a young child in conversation.

The woman was uncomfortable and tried to move away. The man hit the woman to the rear of her head as she moved past him.

We are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the man in the photograph as he may have information that could assist our investigation.
