We’re appealing for information following a frightening incident during which an 85-year-old man was caused to fall whilst protecting his dog from an attack by another.
It happened in Hall Lane Park, near to the Richard Taylor Church of England Primary School in Harrogate, on Tuesday 19 November between 7pm and 7.30pm.
The elderly man was walking his labrador dog when it was attacked and injured by a white pit-bull-type dog, which was unmuzzled, out-of-control and off the lead, and being walked by two young men.
The pensioner fell over whilst trying to protect his dog, and was left feeling very shaken and upset.
The men with the attacking dog are described as white, aged around 20-years-old, and wearing dark clothing. Following the incident they both left the park without providing any details.
We’re appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or can help us to identify the young men and the attacking dog.
Please email [email protected] if you have any information that could help our investigation.
