We’re appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision on Monkgate in York city centre.
It happened at 5.40pm on Wednesday 11 December 2024 and involved a grey Hyundai car and a cycle.
The car and the cyclist collided at the Huntington Road roundabout. Following the incident the cyclist required treatment in hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the car, a man in his 50s failed a roadside drug test and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by careless driving. He was later charged with failing to provide a specimen and was remanded in custody.
We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the car or bike prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us. You can email [email protected] if you can help. Alternatively, you can call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and ask for Mike Halstead.
