17 Janaury: An update in relation to an appeal we issued last week following a collision in Richmond involving a child and a car.
It transpired that the driver had reported the collision shortly after it happened.
Original appeal:
We’re appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a vehicle failed to stop at the scene of a collision in which a child was knocked over.
It happened in Richmond at the junction of Darlington Road and Maison Dieu at 8.15am Wednesday 8 January 2025.
It involved a hatchback that collided with a 10-year-old boy, causing minor injuries. The car did not stop and carried on its journey.
We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.
Please email TC Mark Davey, [email protected] if you can help.
Alternatively, you can call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for TC Mark DAVEY collar number 895.
Please quote reference 12250004943 when passing on information.
The child did not attend hospital.
