North Yorkshire Police is asking the public to keep alert for any sightings of missing 45 year-old Gavin Dhont who has now been missing for over a month.
Gavin was last seen in Ripon on Tuesday 6 December and officers are extremely concerned for his welfare.
Extensive searches have been undertaken to look for Gavin over the last few weeks, including the use of police dogs and the police drone, but with no gain.
North Yorkshire Police Inspector, Ed Rogerson, said:
“We’re really grateful to everyone who has been in touch to support our search and we’re asking the public once again to please keep your eyes peeled for any sightings. Every piece of information reported to us is really valuable so do get in touch by calling 101 if you can help.
“We know Gavin enjoys walking in the local area so if you are out and about, please keep Gavin in mind. Thank you.”
Gavin has been known to walk in locations such as; Hell Wath, Studley Roger, Studley Royal Park and along the River Ure. He has also been known to visit Ripon Wetlands and does have connections to Scarborough.
Gavin is described as of thin build with short dark brown hair.

North Yorkshire Police is continuing to search for 45 year-old Gavin Dhont who was last seen in Ripon on Tuesday 6 December.
Officers are extremely concerned for Gavin’s welfare and are urging the public to please keep looking for Gavin when out and about over the coming days.
Gavin enjoys walking in the local area including the Hell Wath, Studley Roger, Studley Royal Park and along the River Ure. He has also been known to visit Ripon Wetlands and does have connections to Scarborough.
Substantial amounts of posters and leaflets have been distributed in the local area to encourage the public to keep looking for Gavin and Gavin’s friends and family have been supporting with police searches.
Gavin’s dad, Luc, last week made this appeal:
“Gavin if you see or hear this appeal please contact someone. Either call myself or another family member or friend or call the police. We all want to know you are OK and bring you home safely. We are all very worried about you.”
Inspector Ed Rogerson said: “We’re doing everything we can to try and locate Gavin but you, the public, are vital extra eyes and ears to help look for him.
“We know many people will be out and about enjoying the countryside over the festive period and we’d really urge you to be vigilant for any sightings of Gavin.
“We’d also ask everyone in the areas near Gavin’s home and where he is known to walk, to please check any doorbell footage which may give information as to the direction he travelled in.
“If you have any information which could help please call 101 or 999 for an immediate sighting. Your support is invaluable, thank you.”

Update 5pm 15 December 2022:
Police are renewing their appeal for information following the disappearance of a man from Ripon.
Gavin Dhont, 45, was last seen in the city on Tuesday 6 December, and officers are extremely worried for his welfare.
Gavin enjoys walks in areas including the Hell Wath, Studley Roger, Studley Royal Park and along the river Ure. He also enjoys visiting Ripon Wetlands. Police are asking residents and business owners located in these areas, and along Princess Road and Lead Lane, to check any video doorbells which may hold footage of Gavin.
Gavin also has connections to Scarborough and may have travelled there.
A number of enquiries have been carried out since Gavin was last seen and officers are currently working to establish if a potential sighting of him on Tuesday can be confirmed.
Gavin’s Dad, Luc, said: “Gavin if you see or hear this appeal please contact someone. Either call myself or another family member or friend or call the police. We all want to know you are OK and bring you home safely. We are all very worried about you.”
Inspector Julie Earnshaw, said: ‘We are extremely worried for Gavin’s welfare, especially as the weather has been so cold over recent days.
“We have released another photograph of Gavin in the hope it will help people remember whether they have seen him and if you have, please contact police with information.”

Anyone who has seen Gavin since he went missing or who believes they know his whereabouts is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police as a matter of urgency on 101, or using 999 in an emergency and quoting either his name or reference 12220219012.

Officers are trying to find Gavin Dhont who is from Ripon. He’s 45, of thin build and has short dark brown hair.
He was last seen in the Ripon area on Sunday night and police are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety.
