An intensive search to find a 33-year missing man from Colburn has been called off following the discovery of a body in woodland on the outskirts of the village.
He was reported missing on Wednesday (12 February 2025) morning and an urgent appeal was issued at teatime as concerns grew for his safety.
As well specialist police officers and a police helicopter, the operation has also been supported by search and rescue team members.
Sadly, the missing man was found deceased in woodland at around 8.25pm.
The death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
The man’s family have been informed and are receiving support from the police.
We ask that the man’s photograph and name that we used in the missing person appeal are removed from websites and social media as soon as possible.
Thank to you everyone who supported the appeal.
