Two men will appear in court charged with murder in Harrogate.
The men, aged 36 and 38, were arrested on Monday night at a flat in Mayfield Grove, after police located the body of a man there.
DCI Jonathan Sygrove, of North Yorkshire Police’s Major Investigation Team, said: “I’d like to thank local residents for their patience and support while we carry out enquiries. I can reassure people that this was an isolated incident, and officers will remain in the area to provide ongoing reassurance and support to the community.”
The two men are due to appear at York Magistrates Court.
A third man arrested in connection with the incident has been released with no further action.
Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a Harrogate flat.
At about 11.30pm on Monday 20 December 2021, North Yorkshire Police received a report that a man had died in Harrogate. Officers attended a flat in Mayfield Grove and located the body of a man.
Three men, two in their 30s and one in his 20s, were arrested at the flat on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody at this time.
Chief Inspector Andy Colbourne, County Commander, said: “I recognise that local residents will be extremely concerned by what has happened, but they can be reassured that an extensive investigation is underway.
“Officers will be conducting enquiries in the area, and the Neighbourhood Policing Team are carrying out extra patrols to provide further reassurance.”
