Enquires are continuing after a man sustained serious head injuries near Thirsk Industrial Estate on Monday evening (1 November).
We have had a very positive response to our appeal and officers have thanked members of the public who have come forward with information so far.
Officers would still like to hear from anyone who has not already spoken to them and was in the area at the time, including motorists with dash-cam footage or residents who have door-bell or CCTV camera footage along York Road.
The victim remains in hospital in a serious condition.
To recap, the incident happened at around 5.35pm on Monday 1 November 2021 near the second junction (heading out of Thirsk), that leads to the industrial estate.
Officers are appealing for witnesses, dashcam ad doorbell/CCTV footage from local people and anyone who was in the area at the time, including the moments before the incident.
If you saw, or have any dash-cam footage of either the victim, who was wearing light coloured trousers and a black jacket or another man, described as muscular and wearing a grey hooded top and tracksuit trousers who was walking towards the industrial estate, or if you witnessed the assault itself please get in touch.

Appeal: 2 November 2021
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a man suffered serious head injuries following an assault near Thirsk Industrial Estate.
It happened at around 5.35pm on Monday 1 November 2021, when the victim was walking along York Road when he was assaulted near the second junction (heading out of Thirsk), that leads to the industrial estate.
Officers came across the man, who is local and aged in his 30s, laid on the pavement with serious head injuries. He was airlifted to James Cook Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Officers are treating the incident as an assault and are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage from anyone who was in the area at the time, including the moments before the incident.
If you saw, or have any dash-cam footage of either the victim, who was wearing light coloured trousers and a black jacket or another man, described as muscular and wearing a grey hooded top and tracksuit trousers who was walking towards the industrial estate, or if you witnessed the assault itself please get in touch.
