Police were contacted by the ambulance service at 10.17pm yesterday evening (Tuesday 19 April 2022). Crews were requesting police assistance at an incident outside The Terrace Sports Bar on Fossgate in York.
A 46-year-old man had been assaulted outside the bar on the street. Police arrested a 38-year-old man at the scene, he remains in police custody.
The victim currently remains in a critical condition at hospital. His family are being supported by specially trained police officers.
CCTV shows several people on the street at time of the incident. Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the inicient or who has information as they could have vital information which could help the investigation.
