Following an incident on Bishopthorpe Road in York on 1 November, in which a 34-year-old man sustained serious injuries while at work during a fall involving a raised platform, we can now confirm that sadly, he has since died in hospital.
North Yorkshire Police has now taken primacy in the investigation, although it remains a joint investigation with the Health and Safety Executive.
The investigation remains ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident, and whether or not any offences have been committed.
We are not in a position to release any further details at this time.

North Yorkshire Police were called by the ambulance service at around 2.50pm on 1 November to reports of a workplace incident at an apartment block on Bishopthorpe Road, York.
A man sustained serious injuries in the incident and has been taken to hospital. The Health and Safety Executive has been notified.
