UPDATED - Body found in Scalby, Scarborough

The scene in Scalby, Scarborough where a man’s body was found in a clothing recycling bin early this morning (Fri 17 Mar), has now been closed down.

There are no suspicious circumstances around the man’s death and a file has been passed to the Coroner.

The man’s family have been made aware and are being supported by officers.

Police were contacted at 6am Friday 17 March 2023 by a member of the public, who reported finding a body in a recycling bin in Scalby, Scarborough.

Police, Fire and Ambulance services attended and are currently at the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing, but officers do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances around the incident.
