A Police Community Support Officer based in Settle has been honoured with a legacy award by Craven District Council.
PCSO Jayne Grace from Craven Neighbourhood Policing Team was presented with the award at the final meeting of the Council, prior to their devolution to North Yorkshire Council.
The Council were seeking to award individuals and organisations who have made a lasting impact on their communities. Jayne was nominated after a dedicated 17 years of policing the local communities in Settle and across North Craven.
Jayne’s role as a PCSO has seen her touch the lives of countless members of her community. She has been, and continues to be, a positive influence on the young and a steady support for the vulnerable and is well deserving of this award.
Jayne is also well known for her long-term commitment to the implementation and running of Crucial Crew, a partnership scheme which delivers key inputs to all primary school aged children across Craven.
Julie Earnshaw, Insp for Craven NPT, said: "Jayne Grace is such a key figure in the North Craven community and I am extremely proud to have her as part of my team. The Legacy award is so well deserved for her dedicated years of hard work."
