A man has been arrested after a burglary at a jewellers in York this morning.
At about 6am today, a member of the public called police to report that a jewellery shop in Coney Street had had its window smashed.
North Yorkshire Police officers attended immediately, and within 20 minutes a 40-year-old man was located and stopped nearby. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, and remains in custody at this time.
A number of suspected stolen watches were recovered. Enquiries are ongoing.
