A suspected burglar has been arrested for a burglary of four plots at Haw Bank housing development in Skipton.
Between Tuesday 23 January and Wednesday 24 January, four combination boilers worth a total value of £5,000 that had been installed into new build residential housing, were stolen.
Upon information received, officers from our County Intelligence Department and Neighbourhood Police team attended two addresses in Pudsey, West Yorkshire, one of which was a commercial unit.
It was there that all the stolen boilers were located in the rear of a high value vehicle in the car park outside.
A 39-year-old man from Guiseley, West Yorkshire was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
He has been released under investigation whilst enquiries are ongoing.
This successful outcome is part of our intensified efforts against boiler theft in the Craven area and along the A1 corridor.
Our team has been actively marking boilers, providing crime prevention guidance, and encouraging communities to report suspicious activities or vehicle sightings.
We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed suspicious activity around the Haw Bank housing development or has information relevant to our investigation to come forward.
