North Yorkshire Police has assessed each of the recommendations from the Criminal Justice Alliance's super-complaint relating to Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 and independent scrutiny of stop and search and adopted recommendations 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10. Actions have been defined to ensure the use of Section 60 Stop and Search by NYP officers is legitimate, proportionate and fair.
Progress will be tracked and monitored through our governance process. We await the NPCC response to these recommendations and will review and incorporate any further best practice identified.
