Last week we received a report that a motorbike had been stolen from the garden of a house in the Chapelfields area of York.
Today (Friday 05 April 2024) our Force Control Room became aware that the motorbike was active in the Boroughbridge area.
Several marked and unmarked resources were sent to look for it. A short time later the stolen motorbike was sighted by one of our officers who was riding our unmarked Kawasaki Ninja H2.Roads policing officers pre-emptively boxed the bike in and the two occupants were arrested.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and driving without a license or insurance.
Both currently remain in police custody.
