Two men who were wanted by police in connection with a violent attack in York have been arrested.
Yesterday North Yorkshire Police made a direct appeal to Joshua Anthony Strickland, aged 29, and Robinson Peter Fitch Binks, 26, after a man in his 30s suffered serious burns to his back.
Both wanted men were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm today after police stopped a vehicle in the Clifton area of York.
A third man, who is in his 60s and was also in the vehicle, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All have been taken into custody and a full investigation into the incident, which happened at around 12.30am on Friday, remains ongoing.
Detectives have made three other arrests in connection with the attack, including a 41-year-old woman, a 43-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man. All three have been released on bail while enquiries continue.
