We often find in policing that one thing leads to another.
Yesterday morning (Sunday 15 September 2024) officers from the Selby Neighbourhood Policing team were on routine enquiries at a property on Volta Street in the town.
As officers entered the property two people very quickly ran out of a downstairs room and into another room, but our team acted swiftly and quickly detained them.
A search of the address found a lock knife, a knuckle duster and a quantity of brown wraps which is suspected to be a class A drug.
A 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, who are both from the West Midlands area, were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.
Both men were later released with bail conditions which prevent them from entering North Yorkshire.
We are committed to tackling the use and supply of illegal drugs in our local communities. Concerned about drugs in your area? Contact your local team by calling us on 101.
