Investigation launched after woman found dead in Tang Hall, York

Following a post-mortem examination, we have ruled out any third-party involvement.

The man who was arrested in connection with this incident has been released with no further action.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

We were called by the ambulance service to an address in the Tang Hall area of York at around 9.45am yesterday (Sunday, 5 January).

Sadly, a woman in her 40s was found dead at the address.

We have launched an investigation into her death, which is in its very early stages.

A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the investigation and taken into custody, where he remains today. Enquiries are ongoing.

Residents will see a police presence in the area, with officers speaking to the community and conducting enquiries throughout the day.
