Suspect arrested after thefts at York shopping centres

We’ve arrested a man on suspicion of shop theft and stealing someone’s bike following incidents at shopping centres in York.

Around £500 of stock was taken from shops at Clifton Moor and the bike was stolen from outside Monk’s Cross in three separate incidents over the past few weeks.

We launched an investigation which has resulted in a man in his 20s from York being arrested and taken into custody, where he remains today.
