Police investigating after suspicious incident in Scarborough

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was grabbed by a man in Scarborough.

The boy, aged 15, was walking along Westwood at around 4pm on 17 June 2015, when he was approached by a man who got hold of him around the waist.

The boy fought the man off and made his way home. He was uninjured in the incident.

Officers are investigating the incident and are trying to identify the man and establish what his intentions were.

The man is described as white, aged around 40, with a medium build, stubble, and grey hair with a fringe. He was scruffy and was wearing a grey t-shirt and dark-coloured jeans.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Kate Ryan or Scarborough police.
