Shop manager threatened with knife in Scarborough robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at a shop in Scarborough.

At about 10.35am today, Thursday 30 June 2016, police received a report that two men had entered the e-cigarette shop on Newborough, Scarborough, and threatened the manager with a knife. They forced him to empty the safe of a quantity of cash. One of the men then punched the manager before they fled with the safe and till takings.

One of the men is described as 6ft 3ins – 6ft 4ins, of slim build, wearing a black hooded top, a black bandana covering his face, and a baseball cap. The other man is described as 5ft 10ins – 5ft 11ins, of a stockier build, wearing similar clothing but possibly a purple bandana covering his face.

After they left the shop, it is believed they turned left down Newborough.
