Community Speed Watch is available to those roads deemed suitable following a submission of a Speed Concern Form into the Speed Management Protocol. All locations are fully risk assessed and all volunteers are trained by and deploy on behalf of North Yorkshire Police. In some areas, Police Support Volunteers and Police Community Support Officers will also complete CSW deployments.
1st and 2nd time offences through Community Speed Watch result in warning letters being sent to the registered keeper of the vehicle. Further offences will be passed to local area policing.
