The below log is a record of North Yorkshire Police's Community Speed Watch (CSW) deployments. The log contains information such as date and location of CSW deployments along with the number of offences captured vs the number of vehicles monitored on that day.
Last Updated: 12/07/2023
Community Speed Watch is available to those roads deemed suitable following a submission of a Speed Concern Form into the Speed Management Protocol. All locations are fully risk assessed and all volunteers are trained by and deploy on behalf of North Yorkshire Police. In some areas, Police Support Volunteers and Police Community Support Officers will also complete CSW deployments.
1st and 2nd time offences through Community Speed Watch result in warning letters being sent to the registered keeper of the vehicle. Further offences will be passed to local area policing.

Please note that due to a review of officer health and safety by North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, all speed data logger activity has been temporarily paused. When this review has been completed, we expect normal service will resume. Please return to this page for further updates, which will be posted in due course. We apologise for any delay or inconvenience during this time.
If you have already submitted a speed concern into the SMP process that is awaiting data collection, we will be working through these as soon as possible following the above review. No further forms or emails are required to log these concerns again.
