Our Alcohol Licensing Unit actively manages over 5,500 licensed premises across North Yorkshire and the City of York.
Our aim is to play a key role in enforcing alcohol licensing legislation and liaising with operators to ensure that every licensed premise in North Yorkshire complies and promotes the four licensing objectives:
- The prevention of crime and disorder
- Public safety
- The prevention of public nuisance
- The protection of children from harm
Under the Licensing Act 2003, it is the local authority which is responsible for administering, granting, suspending and revoking alcohol licences.
Your local authority is responsible for alcohol licensing.
