Q3. Officer suicide is not recorded, the cause of death is recorded by the coroner and therefore unless the cause of death was identified by family members then we would not hold this information.
Q4. Of the 12 cases, all were white British, there were 10 males and 2 females and length of service varied from 0 years to 23 years.
Q5. We have interpreted this question to mean the number of officers at work at the time of their death and the result is nil.
Q6. There were no officers under investigation for misconduct or criminal offences at the time of their death.

Q13. North Yorkshire Police has the following policies, practices and programs in place to monitor and support the mental health of officers:
Q14. Evaluation forms are given to attendees at the above sessions.
Q15. North Yorkshire Police carry out TRIM assessments and offer wellbeing attendance and prioritised support.
Q16. Wellbeing strategy and delivery plan for 4 years. Only written in 2021 and will be reviewed 2025/26.
There is a delivery plan which is updated monthly and reviewed annually.
Wellbeing pledge and annual theme - the theme each year is reviewed and based on what the wellbeing themes have been throughout the year and activity plan produced for the year.
Wellbeing workshops on various subject such as stress, sleep, anxiety, trauma etc.
Wellbeing days – health checks and info on mental health subjects
Delivery of positive psychology for resilience – external provider, one day workshop.
Delivery of positive psychology for resilience to all new recruits by the wellbeing team.
Annual wellbeing checks for high risk roles.
The wellbeing service is evaluated continuously through questionnaire to those using the service.
The strategy was only developed in 2021 and is for 4/5 years and has a delivery plan which is reviewed on a monthly basis.
TRIM assessments – reviewed last year and more practitioners recruited and trained.
Q17. Officers and police staff remain within the standard crime management that NYP would apply to investigations to others outside of the police service. There is no separate policy and we do have further communications through the Federation, Unison or Supts Association who are supporting individuals under investigation.
Q18. The welfare of officers and staff is considered through a risk assessment at the point of charge. There are additional assessments and support we could afford on a case by case basis depending on any risks known or raised to the force. Should an individual be suspended from duty then there are additional risk assessments completed every 28 days with the support of their dedicated welfare point of contact.
Q19. First line leaders programme – module on wellbeing.
Q20. Awareness of signs for stress and trauma. How to talk to an individual struggling, wellbeing tools to help, such as a passport, support plan and adjusted duties.
Q21. This is continually evaluated by the Talent and Development team.
