Plane crash in Ahmedabad
The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
Please note: if you submitted a road traffic incident report on this site, you'll be able to download a copy of your report once you've submitted it. That report is a collision report. You can then send that report to your insurance company or solicitor.
If you're a solicitor or an insurance agent, you can apply, on behalf of your client, for a copy of any existing collision reports the police have made or hold, or request an interview with the police officer who dealt with the road traffic collision, as long as it's been investigated.
Individuals can also apply for collision reports if they're representing themselves in civil proceedings.
Before you apply, you'll need the police reference number. It will be in one of these formats:
Fill in the 'Request a collision report form' below and email it to us.
Please make sure you add all the relevant details, otherwise we'll have to charge you an extra administration fee.
We’ll tell you when we can release the report and then we'll ask you to pay. Please don’t send payment until we ask for it.
Copy of collision report (including witness statements and interview transcripts subject to availability): £155.90
Limited particulars (third-party details only): £74.70
These fees include a non-refundable £30 search fee.
Other materials may be available on request. Please contact us at the email address below.
Please don’t send Bacs payments until we confirm we have the information you need and how much it will cost.
In order to improve our service, we're transferring from Bacs payments to GOV.UK Pay, in line with other police forces.
From 1 August 2025 we will no longer accept cheques or Bacs payments, and will move fully across to the GOV.UK Pay system. Payment details will be provided via email directly from the Collision Enquiries Team. Please note, GOV.UK Pay accepts credit/debit card payments only.
When we've told you the total cost of what you've requested, make a cheque payable for the relevant amount to 'North Yorkshire Police' and send it with a copy of your filled-in form to:

If you're requesting a copy of the collision report, it can take up to 28 days from the date we receive your payment.
If you're requesting third-party details, it can take up to 21 days from the date we receive your payment.
Please note, collision accident reports can only be released once the case has been closed.
