Request
For all of these answers I will use data from 01/07/2024-31/08/2024.
Q1. On average, what percentage of calls to 101 are "dropped" because no-one answers and callers give up. This is a standard statistic for call centres.
Q2. What is the average time for a 101 call to be answered?
Q3. What is the average time for a 101 call to be answered on Friday and Saturday evenings (say the month of August or July).
Q4. It seems there are more officers on day duty than on an evening, can you provide statistics, again for August or July, by day, for Stokesley. Include figures/days when there was not one officer on duty in Stokesley, (excluding anyone who just happened to be working in the police station as opposed to on duty in the town).
Q5. What is the average sick rate for officers for the last six months, as a percentage.
Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.
Decision
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you.
Q1. The National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) has split abandonment into Positive and Negative Discontinuance. Positive discontinuance are calls which have abandoned within the service-level agreement time the force has set. For North Yorkshire Police this is 3 minutes. Negative discontinuance is any call which abandons outside of this. During the timeframe specified, the average Negative Discontinuance was 16% and the Positive Discontinuance was 12%.
Q2. The average time for answering a call, within the timeframe specified, was 4 minutes and 34 seconds.
Q3. On Friday and Saturday Evenings (2000hrs - 2359hrs) during the timeframe specified the average answer time was 6 minutes and 5 seconds.
Q4. Information not held. Officer deployment is allocated on the day dependant upon available resources. Therefore, if an officer was allocated Stokesley this would not necessarily mean they were working from Stokesley or actually attended Stokesley as it would depend upon incident demand on the day. Similarly, officers not allocated to Stokesley may attend incidents in Stokesley.
Q5. The average sick rate for officers for the last six months, represented as a percentage is 1.82%.
Please note that systems used for recording information are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data. It should be noted therefore that this force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other responses you may receive.
