Can we please move ahead requesting just the data for Q1 and Q2 please?

I know there was some confusion around what data is being requested, and thanks to the guidance of other police force FOI teams I can confirm we’re looking for HO Code 8/21.

I hope this helps, and appreciate it will now set my request as a new request, as we’re removing Q3.

Q1. How many dog attacks were reported to your force throughout the whole of 2023? If possible, can this data be split by month? If not, an overall annual total is fine.

Q2. How many dog attacks were reported to your force throughout the whole of 2024? Again, a monthly breakdown would be nice but is not a dealbreaker.

Q3. For both 2023 and 2024, can you list the top 5 dogs involved in reported dog attacks, and – if possible – note how many reports related to these dogs.

Q1 & Q2. Please see the table below showing the total number of 008/21 coded crimes recorded between 01 January 2023 to 31 December 2024, broken down by calendare year and month.

Please note that systems used for recording information are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  It should be noted therefore that this force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other responses you may receive.
