FOI 1032-2024/25- Sexual assaults in hospitals

Request:

Q1. How many reports have been made to North Yorkshire Police of sexual assaults which are alleged to have taken place at North Yorkshire hospitals between November 2022 and November 2024?

Q2. How many reports have been made to  North Yorkshire Police of rape which are alleged to have taken place at North Yorkshire hospitals between November 2022 and November 2024?

Q3. How many of the above points 1 and 2 were reported to have taken place on a hospital ward?

Q4. How many people have been charged with sexual assault/rape re. 1 and 2 above?

Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information

To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.  

Decision

I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.

Q1. Between 01 November 2022 and 30 November 2024 there have been 13 sexual assault crimes recorded where the location type is hospital.

Q2. Between 01 November 2022 and 30 November 2024 there have been 0 rape crimes recorded where the location type is hospital.

Q3. A manual review has been undertaken of the above,  to which 5 occurred on a ward

Q4. Of the above crimes recorded in Q1 there have been 2* charged outcomes

*Please note that the MO location of hospital may include anything within hospital grounds.
