Request:
Q1. For each of the calendar years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, please provide the number of officers who were presented with a Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct at 20 years’ service.
Q2. For each of the calendar years 2023, 2024 and 2025, please provide the number of officers recognised for serving (i) 30 years and (ii) 40 years.
One force sought clarification on my request. For the sake of clarity, I wish to share the clarification sought and my response:
"The application refers to the presentation of officers with the Long Service medal and clasps. Does the application actually refer to the formal presentation of the medal or clasp, or are you seeking the number of officers in each of the specified years, who qualified by service for the medal or clasp?
They will not be the same."
I responded:
"I seek information on the latter - the number of officers in each of the specified years, who qualified by service for the medal or clasp."
One force sought clarification on what I meant by "officers".
For the sake of clarity, I shall share the details.

I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.
Please find below the LSGC medal and clasp numbers from 2021 – 2025:
2021 - 73 x 20 year long service and good conduct medals
2022 – 27 x 20 year long service and good conduct medals, 3 x 30 year clasps (30 and 40 year clasps are launched by the Home Office on the 11th March 2022)
2023 – 139 x 20 year long service and good conduct medals, 5 x 30 year clasps
2024 – 74 x 20 year long service and good conduct medals, 12 x 30 year clasps
2025 – 75 x 20 year long service and good conduct medals, 16 x 30 year clasps
