I am sending this email, as I am seeking some information from your constabulary in relation to your sports team’s policies, therefore I am sending you a freedom of information request.
I am aware that some constabularies have allocated annual leave allocated to officers that represent there force when playing sports, wether that is rugby, football, cricket or golf etc.
Basically, I am trying to find out what amount of time your force, if any, is given to officers or staff that represent your force.
Please could you send me a copy of your policy (If you have one?), and redact anything out that is not necessary to my request and me.

I have therefore decided to exempt providing you with a response pursuant to Section 21 Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act).
Section 17 of the Act requires North Yorkshire Police, when refusing to provide such information (because the information is exempt) to provide you the applicant with a notice which: (a) states that fact, (b) specifies the exemption in question and (c) states (if that would not otherwise be apparent) why the exemption applies.
Section 21 – Information Reasonably Accessible by Other Means
Section 21 is an absolute class based exemption and I am not required to consider the harm or public interest when applying this exemption.
Pursuant to Section 17(1) of the Act this letter acts as a Refusal Notice in response to your request.
In relation to the amount of time off given to officers for spoting events, as your request does not contain any date parameters we are unable to provide you with this information.
