Q1. Please can you provide the total number of charges brought for the following offences recorded in your force area, by calendar year, from 2021 onwards.
Driving without due care
Driving without reasonable consideration
Driving while under the influence of alcohol
Driving while under the influence of drugs
Exceeding statutory speed limit on a public road

I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.
Q1. Please see the table below showing the number of charge outcomes relating to the following driving offences, in the period 1 January 2021 to 20 February 2025:
- Drive a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road / in a public place without due care and attention
- Drive a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road / in a public place without reasonable consideration to other users
- Drive motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit
- Drive a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs
- Drive motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit
- Or where the offence title contains ‘speed’
The data has been broken down by calendar year and offence type.
Please note that an individual may be charged for more than one offence and where this is the case, all offences have been counted.
