Decision
I wish to advise you that your request does not meet the criteria for a valid FOI request.
In order for a request to be valid under Section 8(1)(c) of the Freedom of Information Act, the request must ‘clearly describe the information being sought’, and refer to ‘records capable of recovery in any form’. This can be ‘recorded information held in written records, typed, handwritten, emails etc’. The majority of your request, in its current form, asks for information which would require an opinion or judgement, and not that of recorded information held by North Yorkshire Police. For example, it is not possible for North Yorkshire Police to confirm, based on information held, the answer to What are the biggest challenges your organisation currently faces in surveying and geospatial activity?
If you wish to revise your request for information to that which is held by North Yorkshire Police then we can reconsider your request accordingly. The following link may be of assistance if you wish to submit a further request: How to access information from a public body | ICO
Please note that systems used for recording information are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data. It should be noted therefore that this force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other responses you may receive.
