Please can you provide me with the number of shoplifting incidents at Boots (the chemist) reported to your force in:

Q1. 2022, 2023 & 2024 (year to August) If possible, please break down incidents by calendar month.

Q2. If possible, please provide details of goods stolen e.g hair products.

To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you which is correct as of 11 October 2024.

To obtain these results, a search of the North Yorkshire Police crime recording system was carried out using the term ‘BOOTS’. The below results featured the term ‘BOOTS’ in either the premises name or the address name and include the following, Boots, Boots The Chemist and Boots Opticians.

Q1. Please see the below table which details the number of shoplifting crimes which occurred at Boots the Chemist, recorded by North Yorkshire Police from 01 January 2022 to 31 July 2024, broken down by month and year.

Please see the below table which details the items taking during the above shoplifting crimes which occurred at Boots the Chemist, recorded by North Yorkshire Police from 01 January 2022 to 31 July 2024. I note that some offences include more than one stolen item which explains the difference between the number of crimes and the number of items recorded as stolen.
