FOI 0678-2026/27- 'Grok' crimes

Request:

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request information regarding crime reports and police incidents that reference the AI chatbot "Grok".

Please limit the search to the period between 1 January 2025 and 1 July 2026.

I request the following:

1. The total number of recorded crimes or incident logs where the summary or incident description contains the keyword "Grok".
2. A breakdown of these crimes by principal offense category (e.g., Fraud, Harassment, Malicious Communications, Theft), including the number of recorded crimes attributable to each category.
3. The recorded police outcome for each identified crime (e.g., Charged/Summoned, Evidential Difficulties, Caution, Investigation Complete - No Suspect Identified).

I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.

A search has been conducted for incidents and crimes recorded between 1 January 2025 and 1 July 2026, where the MO remarks or occurrence summary contain the term "Grok", which provided zero results.

Please note that systems used for recording information are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  It should be noted therefore that this force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other responses you may receive.
