This case is subject to reporting restrictions which have been imposed by the Chair and agreed between the parties. The following is a brief summary of the allegations and does not particularise them in detail to protect the anonymity of those concerned.
Summary
Whilst a serving police officer with North Yorkshire Police you engaged in excessive and unprofessional communications with a young person through messaging and social media platforms. It is alleged that you knew or should have known to maintain proper boundaries, and that you knew or believed this young person to be of school age.
Attendance
Reporting restrictions are in place for this hearing with the Chair directing that the officers name and witness details must not be published prior to the hearing.
