Officers from our Roads Policing Group are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision that occurred at 4.45pm on Friday 2 September 2022.
The collision occurred on West Road, Carleton-in-Craven, near Elslack Woods and involved a light blue coloured Fiat 500 which was travelling in the direction of Skipton, which left the rood.
Emergency services, including air ambulance attended the scene and the driver, a 19-year-old man and his passenger, a 19-year-old woman who are both from Colne in Lancashire, were taken to hospital. The woman has since been discharged from hospital, however the man remains in a critical but stable condition.
Roads policing officers are particularly keen to trace the driver of a white BMW estate car which was seen in the area at the time of the collision, who may have information which is important to the investigation.
Anyone with any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Traffic Constable 123 Geri Tunney of the Roads Policing Group. You can email [email protected] or call 101, select option 2 and ask to speak to TC 123 Geri Tunney. Please quote reference number 12220157255.
07/09/2022 Correction - Please note, the original appeal stated the injured man was from Harrogate. This was incorrect and has since been amended.
