Tribute to man who died following Skipton Assault

Peter Walker’s family have issued the following appeal.

"Peter Walker was a loving father, husband, brother and son. Pete will be missed by his family and also by the many friends and people who knew him.

“Pete was a happy go lucky person and well known for being outgoing and hilarious. If anybody needed any support Pete was always there to lend a hand.

“Sadly, Pete was taken away from us all too soon in tragic circumstances.

“He will be greatly missed by all of us.

“Rest in peace, Big Lad.”

 

Peter Walker, 41, sadly died following an assault at the Black Horse Pub in Skipton on Saturday 22 October 2022.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information and has not yet come forward to police, is asked to get in touch. Dial 101, press 2 and ask to speak to the Major Investigation Team.

Update 26 October 

The victim of the serious assault on Skipton High Street last weekend has sadly died.

Peter Walker, aged 41 from Lancashire, died in hospital yesterday (Tuesday 25 October 2022).

It’s asked that the family are left to grieve in peace at this extremely difficult time.

Original statement 25 October 11am

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 Assault following an incident in Skipton on Saturday 22 October.

It happened at the Black Horse pub on Skipton High Street at around 11.25pm.

The victim, a 41-year-old man from Lancashire, is in a critical condition in hospital as a result of the assault.

Two men from Skipton, aged 33 aged 36, and one man aged 38 from Bingley, have been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

Officers thank those members of the public who have come forward with information.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and has not yet come forward is asked to get in touch. Dial 101, press 2 and ask to speak to the Major Investigation Team.
