A 25-year-old local man has been arrested following a stabbing incident outside the Moxy hotel in the Peasholm Green area of York.
It happened at around 5.15am today (Thursday 9 October 2025) and resulted in a man aged in his 70s being taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The suspect was reported to have left the scene on a bicycle.
Following an area search, officers from the Firearms Support Unit located and arrested the man on Barbican Road at 6.24am.
He remains in custody for questioning while enquiries continue.
The scene was closed to traffic until around 10.10am.
