At 11.06pm on Monday 11 November, police received a call to report that a car had collided with a house on Grey Fold in Byram in the Selby area.
Colleagues from the Fire Service assisted with structural support for the house.
An engineer will need to assess the full extent of the damage to the house, but thankfully no-one was injured in the incident.
Enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver and to understand the full circumstances surrounding the incident as we believe the car was deliberately driven into the house. The investigation is underway, and there is nothing in our enquiries so far to suggest there is a wider risk to the community.
If anyone witnessed the incident, or has any information that could help our investigation, please call North Yorkshire Police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
