Appeal following fatal collision on B6255 between Ingleton and Hawes

We are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the B6255 between Ingleton and Hawes.
It happened at around 11.40am yesterday (Saturday 25 April) and involved two motorcycles travelling northbound from Chapel‑le‑Dale towards Hawes.
The rider of a BMW motorcycle, a man in his 60s from Lancashire, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this very difficult time.
The rider and passenger of a Honda motorcycle were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.
We are keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or has dash‑cam footage that could assist our investigation.

The road was closed for some time to allow emergency services and the Major Collision Investigation Team to carry out work at the scene and was reopened at 9.30pm.
