Appeal following collision involving a cyclist and van in York

Emergency services have been dealing with a serious collision involving a cyclist and a van on Station Road in York.
It happened near The Milner hotel at around 8.30am today (Friday 5 June 2026).
The rider, a local man aged in his 70s, has been taken to hospital by air ambulance for treatment for serious injuries.
The driver of the grey VW Crafter panel van, a man aged in his 60s from Leeds, is assisting officers with the investigation.
The collision scene will be closed to traffic until further notice while enquiries continue.
