One year on - the search for missing Les Davis continues

One year on from the disappearance of Les Davis in Scarborough, police and his family have issued a renewed appeal for information.

A CCTV camera recorded Les leaving his home in the Dean Road area of Scarborough on the morning of Thursday 19 December 2024. He has not been seen since.

Les was 85 at the time. He is described as 5ft 4ins tall, of small build, with short white/grey hair, and would often wear a baseball cap.

Despite the passage of time, North Yorkshire Police are continuing to search for him.

Officers are still particularly seeking information about any potential sightings of Les on 19 December 2024 around the William Street Coach Park, or along Marine Drive and Royal Albert Drive - or any information about his whereabouts since that day.

Les' family said: "Les is desperately missed, and it's particularly difficult at this time of year. Even the smallest piece of information could lead to the answers we need, and give us some kind of closure."

Inspector Craig Regan, of North Yorkshire Police, said: "It's one year since Les disappeared, and our search for him continues. Someone out there may have a crucial sighting or memory. If so, no matter how seemingly small or insignificant it is, we need to hear from you."
