Police have arrested three men and three teenage boys after a car was stolen in Harrogate during a burglary where suspects broke into the victim’s home, stole their car keys and took the owner’s car from outside.
On 17 February the victim reported their vehicle had been stolen in the early hours of that morning.
Later that afternoon, officers working on the investigation traced the vehicle to Rudbeck Drive in Harrogate where it was intercepted, resulting in two people running away from the location.
Following a short search, officers arrested the two suspects, aged 17 and 18, both from Bradford, who were taken into police custody for questioning.
Another vehicle believed to be involved in the burglary was traced to the West Yorkshire area where it was pursued into Bradford by North Yorkshire Police officers who brought it to a stop in a local housing estate. The occupants of the vehicle, two men from Bradford, both aged 19 were also arrested.
Following further enquires, two further suspects both from Harrogate and both aged 17, were arrested the following day (18 February) and taken into police custody for questioning.
All six suspects were arrested on suspicion of burglary or theft or a combination of both. They all remain in police custody for questioning.
