A woman is due to appear in court charged with burglary and fraud in Harrogate.
On the afternoon of Sunday 31 May, North Yorkshire Police received a report that a suspect had entered the house of a woman in her 70s and taken her purse. Her debit card was used soon after to make purchases at a number of shops in Harrogate.
Our officers responded immediately, and, as a result of information received, went to a location a short distance from the victim's address. A 61-year-old woman was arrested. She has since been charged with burglary and fraud.
She is due to appear at York Magistrates Court on 13 July 2026.
