Getting the balance of knowledge and experience right in our workforce is really important, so for some roles we actively recruit transferees from other forces.
From breathtaking countryside to rugged coastline and busy urban areas, North Yorkshire holds some of the most beautiful scenery. The North Yorkshire force area covers City of York, Selby, Scarborough, Ryedale, Hambleton, Richmondshire, Harrogate and Craven.

To be eligible to transfer to North Yorkshire Police, you will:

This typically includes an online application followed by a competency based interview. Those who are successful at assessment will then be required to complete satisfactory clearances before commencing employment with North Yorkshire Police.
Successful candidates will be placed onto a transferee holding list for up to twelve months and may be considered for upcoming vacancies across our force area. Once a suitable vacancy arises, applicants will be given an unconditional offer of employment and the next available start date for your training.
Postings will be made in line with our organisational needs at the time of your application, we will of course take into account your skills, experience and home address.
