Transferee opportunities
Eligibility
To be eligible to transfer to North Yorkshire Police, you will:
- be currently serving at the rank of constable in a recognised Home Office police force
- have successfully completed your probationary period
- have an acceptable performance, attendance and disciplinary record.
Rejoining
We actively encourage former officers to return to policing with North Yorkshire Police; whether you left to focus on family, experience a different force or to try a different career altogether, your skills and experience will be a valuable addition to our team.

Recruitment process
This typically includes an online application followed by a competency based interview. Those who are successful at assessment will then be required to complete satisfactory clearances before commencing employment with North Yorkshire Police.
Successful candidates
Successful candidates will be placed onto a transferee holding list for up to twelve months and may be considered for upcoming vacancies across our force area. Once a suitable vacancy arises, applicants will be given an unconditional offer of employment and the next available start date for your training.
