Our team is responsible for Neighbourhood Policing in the Ingleton area. We re based at Settle Police Station. Our ambition is to provide a neighbourhood policing service of which you, and we, can be proud. Prevention is at the heart of our work, through well-informed collaborative problem-solving, building participation and strengthening the communities we serve. We will remain part of those communities, known and accessible to you, and policing in a way that both prevents harm and enhances your trust in us. This Police Station covers Bentham, Ingleton and Clapham beat areas.

The large number of visitors to the area puts a strain on the existing infrastructure, which is having a direct impact on residents’ quality of life.
Reports of inconsiderate and dangerous parking, with vehicles blocking narrow roads, and preventing emergency vehicles from getting through.Action taken:
We have held a multi-agency meeting involving Parking Services, Highways, the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Community Safety Hub, and Public Safety Services to coordinate a joint response.
Agencies will increase the number of co-ordinated patrols during peak periods, bringing together Police Officers, PCSOs, Public safety officers, Park Rangers and Parking Enforcement Teams.
The partnership approach will continue, with a further meeting planned involving a wider group of stakeholders. This will be followed by engagement and consultation with local parish councils to identify longer-term solutions that balance the needs of residents, visitors, and the environment.
