Anti-Social Behaviour - Bus Station and surrounding areas

Due to an increase of reports of anti-social behaviour from youths in and around Skipton Bus Station and Town centre, we have increased our high visibility and plain clothed patrols in the area and have been working closely with our partner agencies such as the Skipton BID, Shopwatch, Craven Council, Craven Community Safety Partnership Hub and our local MP to have a co-ordinated and joint approach which has allowed CCTV cameras to be put in place.

Tourism issues at local Beauty Spots
Issued 10 July 2026
In warmer weather the large number of visitors to the area is putting a strain on the existing infrastructure and impacting on local communities at our rivers and beauty spots with issues such as water safety, fire safety around BBQ’s, illegal / inconsiderate parking, littering and anti-social behaviour.
Our Public Safety and Neighbourhood Teams are holding regular multi-agency meetings involving Parking Enforcement Services, Highways, Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Craven Community Partnership Safety Hub and Public Safety Services to coordinate a joint response and increase high visibility patrols during peak periods, bringing together Police Officers, PCSOs, Public safety officers, Park Rangers and Parking Enforcement Teams.
The partnership approach will continue, with a further meeting planned involving a wider group of stakeholders. This will be followed by engagement and consultation with local parish councils to identify longer-term solutions that balance the needs of residents, visitors, and the environment.
