Our team is responsible for Neighbourhood Policing in the Northallerton area. We are based at the joint Police and Fire Headquarters in Northallerton. Our ambition is to provide a neighbourhood policing service of which you, and we, can be proud. Prevention will be at the heart of our work, through well-informed collaborative problem-solving, building participation and strengthening the communities we serve. Retail Crime in Northallerton Town Centre
Action taken:
We are working with Love Northallerton (BID) on a joint initiative to visit retailers across Northallerton and offer bespoke crime prevention advice.
We have now obtained 2 CBOs against prolific travelling shoplifters.
In 2026 we have dealt with dealt with several shoplifters, issued 7 Community Resolutions so far, charged 7 people.
We have one person that is currently wantedOf note our reports of shoplifting are reduced at present, this is the impact of the 2 CBOs obtained

Operation Hutch - Following a serious sexual offence we are completing work around the Bylands Avenue area of town
Action taken:
Reassurance patrols have been in place over the last weekend in May,
A quick arrest of the suspect who has now been charged and remanded
All the premises in the immediate area have been visited and security checked
There is a community drop in planned for the 3/6 at Priory Close along with Broadacres and the community safety hub
